Trust in Yourself

We must discover that deep within ourselves there is a voice of love which is the center of our humanity.

Our culture today fills us with a cloud of suspicion that surrounds the human heart. We grow accustomed to thinking of ourselves as a jumble of passions, selfishness, and violence that lead us to doubt and to fear going inside ourselves. We must discover that deep within ourselves there is a voice of love which is the center of our humanity. This is what the Bible means when it says we are the image and likeness of the Creator. We have problems; we are not the problems. We have to learn the difficult discipline of visualizing our conflicts, of setting them before ourselves so we can talk with them and overcome them. It is not enough to walk further (Ultreia) and higher (e Sus eia); you must also walk further inside. Look at your own steps as you did on the Camino and trust them. Step by step you will go far.
